Dira Sugandi

DIRA is now being considered as one of the well-established singer in Indonesia. She is known for her powerful and soulful voice yet she has got a nice airy voice to compliments her style of singing.

She earned her bachelor’s degree as a vocal performance major in The Music Department at Pelita Harapan University in 2006. Throughout her singing career she has shared the stage with some of the top singers and musicians such as Incognito, Jason Mraz, Keith Martin, Yellow Jackets, Diane Warren, D’Sound, George Duke, and Andrea Bocelli. She has also performed at some of the most prestigious venues such as The Plaza New York, Esplanade Singapore, Sydney Opera House and Blue Note Tokyo.

Her debut album ‘Something About the Girl’ was produced by JP ‘Bluey’ Maunick from Incognito and was released in Japan and UK in 2010, and Indonesia in 2011. She was awarded The Indonesian Young Jazz Talent Award at The International Java Jazz Festival in 2009, and Artist of the Year at the 35th Jazz Goes To Campus in 2012.

Nowadays you would easily find her face on Televisions, Internet, Blogs, Social Medias, Magazines, and Newspapers. She had performed in a musical play based on the best-selling novel that had won the prize for general fiction from the New York Book Festival ‘The Rainbow Troops’ in 2011. And she is also expanding her career in acting as she has played in two local movies ‘9 Summers & 10 Autumns‘ in 2013, and ‘In The Absence Of The Sun’ in year 2014.
