Candra Darusman is a musician, music director, an intellectual property rights (HKI) advocate, especially copyrights of music. Candra has released more than 20 albums as a soloist, alongside with Chaseiro and Karimata. He also created many songs for famous Indonesian singers such as Ruth Sahanaya, Chicha Koeswoyo, Utha Likumahuwa, and Grace Simon. During his college time at the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia (FEUI), Candra met with Helmie Indrakesuma, Aswin Sastrowardoyo, Edwin Hudioro, Irwan B. Indrakesuma, Rizali Indrakesuma and Omen Norman Soni Sontani who then formed Chaseiro (1978) and kicked off the Indonesian music industry with songs "Young man". In 1977, Candra co-founded Jazz Goes to Campus (JGTC) at the University of Indonesia. In addition to Chaseiro, in 1985, along with Erwin Gutawa, Aminoto Kosin, Denny TR and Uce Hariono, Candra formed a rock / fusion jazz band Karimata which released 5 albums. Currently, Candra Darusman lives in Singapore and works as Deputy Director of the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) headquartered in Geneva, Switzerlang, which handled Asia Pacific region, especially ASEAN.
Currently, Candra Darusman with Signature Music Indonesia is preparing the album "Detik Waktu: Perjalanan Karya Cipta Candra Darusman". Big names and newcomers like Glenn Fredly, Maliq n D'essentials, Andien, Fariz RM, Sheila Majid, Afgan, Yovie Widianto, Addie MS, Erwin Gutawa, Tohpati, Sammy Simorangkir, Once Mekel, Marcel Siahaan, Nikita Dompas, Barry Likumahuwa, 5 Romeo, Monita Tahalea, ShiLi & Adi, Adikara Fardy and there are still some musicians and other singers who are also in the production process involved in this album.
