Adrian Adioetomo

Is now known as one of the current revivalists of Blues music in Indonesia, especially Delta-Blues. This is due to his first album, “Delta Indonesia”, which was included in the Rolling Stone Indonesia’s Best Album Of The Year 2008 that has made its mark as a revolutionary album in the Indonesian music scene. With the sound simulating an old 78 RPM record, this album is a tribute to the great delta bluesmen in the 1930’s.

He started playing blues at pubs and expat cafes around Jakarta and garnered quite an appreciation for playing favorite blues numbers in acoustic slide-delta style. The sold out live-recordings and demos he made as souvenir ensured him to record an album.

Since then, Adrian has played a lot of events, played in various cities and regions across Indonesia, and earning some media attention. This is quite an achievement considering delta-blues is not a widely known (let alone popular) type of music in Indonesia.

Adrian released “Karat & Arang” in 2013 in which he explores the blues deeper beyond the stereotypes of sound and chords. His latest work, an EP, entitled “EP Apaan ?” was released late 2016.

In 2017 he received the ‘Anugerah Musik Indonesia Awards’ in the category of ‘Artis Solo Pria/Wanita Rock/Instrumentalia Rock Terbaik’ for his song “Tanah Ilusi” from the “EP Apaan ?” mini album.

His other project, a Band Project playing Indonesian hard rock-n-roll RAKSASA, consists of Indonesian indie musicians as its member.
