Biography

Barry Likumahuwa is Indonesian multi talented musician, bass player, producer, composer, music director in jazz, funk, soul, R&B and gospel music. Barry is the son of Indonesian jazz legend Benny Likumahuwa where he got his musicianship from, also influenced by Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Jamie Cullum, John Mayer. 
In 2008 he released his first solo album “Good Spell” and in 2011 with BLP (Barry Likumahuwa Project) released their 1st band album “Generasi Synergy” (Seven Music). The album was listed 20 best albums of 2011 according to Rolling Stone Indonesia. Then BLP released their 2nd album titled “Innerlight” in February 2014, collaborating with Indonesia’s finest singers such as Indra Aziz, Soulmate, Bayu Risa, Bubu Giri, Ivan Saba and also Glenn Fredly. “Innerlight” hits #1 on the top downloaded album iTunes Indonesia in the first week of the album released. Barry released another solo album entitled “Octonary” on 2016. 
Barry has collaborated with international artists such as Grammy Awards winner Maurice Brown, Monday Michiru Erik Hargrove, Ezra Brown (US), Jeremy Tordjman (France), Lewis Pragasam (Malaysia), Jeff Lorber (US), Mike Stern and may others. His latest project is a band under the name of The Rhythm service.
