Dira Sugandi , born on July 29, 1979, in Bandung, West Java, is a distinguished Indonesian singer and actress renowned for her powerful and soulful voice. Coming from a family with a rich singing tradition, she pursued her passion by majoring in vocal performance at Pel ita Harapan University, earning her Bachelor’s degree in 2006. Dira’s career is marked by collaborations with international artists and performances at prestigious events. Notably, she has been a regular performer at the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival , one of the largest jazz festivals globally, where she has showcased her versatility across genres. In the 2025 Java Jazz Festival , Dira presents “Queens of Soul ,” a heartfelt tribute to the legendary female soul singers who have profoundly influenced her musical journey such as Aretha Frankl in, Etta James, Patti LaBel le, Roberta Flack, and Chaka Khan. This special performance celebrates the timeless contributions of iconic artists, reflecting Dira’s deep respect and admiration for these trailblazing women. “Queens of Soul” promises to be a captivating homage, blending Dira’s unique artistry with the enduring legacy of soul music’s greatest female voices.
