Biography

UMI, a rising star in the music industry, released her debut studio album in 2022, "Forest in the City." The album showcased soul-searching lyricism and genre-expansive fluidity, with the song "wish that i could" showcasing queer relationships. UMI has since expanded into social justice advocacy, wellness, and fashion, using these creative endeavors to connect with herself and others. In 2023, she became a leader in meditation and sound baths, emerging as a style icon. Her EP, "talking to the wind," was released in January 2024, written by UMI and producer V-Ron. The EP taught UMI that it's okay to create without a map and to live without one. UMI embarked on a worldwide tour in spring 2024 and supported Jhené Aiko's Magic Hour Tour in North America.
