This Bassist is Not Made, He’s Born A Natural Musician. Having no formal training, Yance Manusama’s strong sense of harmony and rhythm has brought him to where he is right now, a world renowned bassist. He started his career in the world of pop, fusion, funk and mainstream jazz. With countless experience collaborating with local and international musicians, he has put his name in numerous event such as North Sea Jazz, International Jak-Jazz Festival, International Jaza Jazz Festival, and the likes. Due to his unprecedented skills and non-intimidating aura, he has been one of the most sought-for session bassist. In additional to all of the above, he seems to be able strike a balance between his abundantly skillful playing (slapping, speed, etc.) and being a contributive bassist in the band. This quality stems from his pivotal part in OJ Music House, a music institution established by himself and his wife, Otti Jamalus.
