Biography

Manjakani is a pop duo that began their journey in 2015 in Pontianak, Indonesia. After releasing their debut single in 2016, Manjakani steadily grew as a group, marked by increasing performance opportunities both in their hometown of Pontianak (West Kalimantan) and beyond. They have since become frequent performers at major music festivals across Indonesia, including the Folk Music Festival – Malang (2017), Soundrenaline – Bali (2017 & 2018), Synchronize Festival – Jakarta (2018, 2021, 2022), Archipelago Festival – Jakarta (2018), and Rock In Celebes – Makassar (2019). Manjakani has also embarked on several tours, both independently and in collaboration with other parties. These include the Manjakani Radio Tour across Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya (2017), Kalimantan Artfest Calling Tour – West Kalimantan (2018), and the Road to Soundrenaline All Time Tour – Sumatra leg (2019). Between 2019 and 2020, Manjakani was appointed as a brand ambassador for Tri Indonesia, a prominent telecommunications brand. Their debut full-length album, Saura, was released in 2021 in collaboration with Demajors Independent Music Industry (Demajors Recs) and distributed across Demajors’ networks in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei. In 2024, Manjakani is currently working on their second album. The release campaign will begin in September 2024 with the digital launch of the album’s first single, titled Berlayar.
