Monita Tahalea

She began her vocal training during junior high school, studying at BISS (Bina Seni Suara) and EMS (Elfa Music Studio).Her first musical experience was performing with the Elfa Children Choir at the 2nd World Choir Games in Busan, South Korea. Her professional music journey started when she became one of the top four finalists in Indonesian Idol 2005.

A turning point in her artistic growth came through her collaboration with Indra Lesmana, who introduced her to jazz and produced her debut album Dream, Hope & Faith (2010), followed by Songs of Praise (2013), a collaborative project with her band, The Nightingales. This period marked the beginning of her songwriting journey, as she began composing her own music and forming her own band. In 2015, she teamed up with Gerald Situmorang to produce her third album, Dandelion. Her fourth album, Dari Balik Jendela, produced alongside Indra Perkasa, was released in March 2020. Most recently, in June 2025, she released her fifth album, Merona, once again collaborating with Indra Perkasa on production.
